This shows a maze that I created within the Maya 3D tool. I originally started by creating the desired maze through Photoshop, and laid out where I would want a player to start, and create a goal for the player.

Next, I grabbed textures that I wanted to use from a free texturing site, and placed those into Photoshop. After looking at these images, I created a sort of 3D image out of the 2D textures to get a feel of what I would want the player to see when looking inside of the maze.

My next step was to take these textures and bring them into Maya and make sure they look nice.

Once I had the textures within Maya, I was able to recreate the maze using planes, and I decided to add some cylindrical extrusions from the walls in the main hub room area.

I also made a screenshot of the first person view that a player would theoretically have when walking through this maze, showing not only the larger hub room, but the blood that would be found on some walls throughout the maze to increase immersion and add tension for the player.
